Visit the royal residences of King Rama VI
Sanam Chandra Palace’s built by King Rama VI. It has been reopening for the public in 2020, but during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021Q1-2. So they open only the outdoor area for 2 periods of time; morning & evening with the appropriate dress code; long pants& skirt ladies, but for men, shorts must cover your knees and top with sleeves. You will enjoy the greenery & several styles of architecture both authentic Thai & Europe inspired.
Sanam Chandra Palace is a palace complex built by Vajiravudh in Nakhon Pathom Province, Thailand, 56 km west of Bangkok. The palace complex is about a kilometer away from the Phra Pathommachedi. The complex consists of five buildings and a Ganesh shrine.
It is a very well-maintained and scenic place with a garden… it is also the campus of a university… ample parking space is available… no entry fee is charged. you can go walking, jogging and have a relaxed evening in this park… very clean and well-maintained park.. the architecture is a mix of western and Thai styles… it is a good place for all age groups to have a relaxed time. Some of the places were closed and some needed renovation.
The last building next to the exit is the Thailand Football history museum. What a treat... small but very interesting. I bought a football jersey and received a book with photos of Rama 9. That was great. I love looking at his photographs.

More of a large park than a Palace. Nice park. Lots of people walk/run for exercise. VERY serious about no shorts - even for men. Looks like the rule pants below the knee, although I saw several people there exercise with pants slightly above the knee.
A beautiful park and well-groomed territory, it is nice to walk and enjoy the fresh air.
The castle looks beautiful, inside is a museum, before you go to this place, be dressed up properly, as usual for girls shoulders and knees are supposed to be closed, even it's not a temple though, security at the entrance is checking
The modern, old, and dreamlike castle can be located here. Nice garden. The trees and the water provided some cooling in the hot afternoon sun. Very tight security and many places were closed or off-limit during my visit.
Was a hot afternoon when we visited this place. Proper attire is recommended when entering this place. A friend of mine was wearing faded torn/slit-fashioned jeans and was not allowed to enter until properly covered. So bear in mind proper respectful clothing. Nothing much to see, maybe a place for learning its history, if one is interested. To cool down we stopped by near the entrance for a refreshing coconut drink & got the opportunity to see how a skillful person extracts whole coconut flesh. Please see the video included.
Great park to wander around in the morning or evening. The beautiful palace that blending between European and Thai styles.
A lovely garden filled with Thai national heritage, pleasant to walk in, and well-maintained. Interesting features include a football museum as the garden housed the first football pitch in Thailand which belonged to Rama VI.
To note:
1. Dress appropriately with sleeved tops and below-knee-length bottoms.
2. Bring an umbrella as you are going to be under the sun most of the time.
It is a compound that houses royal buildings used by the Thai dynasty. It was the place where their scouts were positioned during the war. It is located approx 56 Km from Bangkok and has easy access by road. The buildings have attractive architecture but unfortunately, they are closed to the public and cannot be viewed from the inside. It has open lawns with lush green grass and wild chickens roaming around. There is no entry fee. On the left of the entrance, there is a small museum dedicated to the football history of Thailand. Overall there isn't much to see but if you are around then it is not a bad option to spend a few hours here.
Before ascending the throne, the then Crown Prince Vajiravudh came to this city to pay homage to Phra Pathommachedi. He wished to build a palace here as a retreat and a residence during his pilgrimage trip to the stupa. He viewed the area as a strategic location. In 1907, he bought about 335 acres of land around Noen Prasart Hill (Thai: เนินปราสาท; RTGS: Noen Prasat; "Castle Hill") from local people. Noen Prasart Hill is believed to be the site of an ancient palace. He then had Luang Phitak Manop (Noi Silapi, later Phraya Visukam Prasit) design and supervised the construction of the palace. The construction began in 1902 by the end of Chulalongkorn's reign (1868 – 1910). It was completed in 1911. Vajiravudh named it Sanam Chandra Palace after a natural pool nearby called "Sa Nam Chand" (Thai: สระน้ำจันทร์; RTGS: Sa Nam Chan; "Moon Pond"). In addition, the king had another plan for this palace. It was to serve not only as a retreat but also as a stronghold during a national crisis. Here, he regularly held practices for the Wild Tigers Corps, a para–military troop.[1] According to Vajiravudh's will, the palace was given to the government to be the site of the military academy. However, after the reigning of Vajiravudh, the palace has been closed and transformed into Nakhon Pathom's administrative area. Some palace halls had been dismantled and moved to National Museum in Bangkok for preservation

There is also a statue of Ganesh set in the middle of the grounds which is popular. The grounds are only open for a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening, so you need to plan your visit.

I have been there since 2016 but just have a chance to review it (the palace is closed now). It was nice walking around there, greenery with historical. We study history and enjoy knowing it.
We came and it closes, so for everyone's benefit, here is the opening time to visit the place. I believe you still cannot go in, but the outside atmosphere would be nice for a walk or photo.

Refreshing park full of green to visit. There are many things you can do here. My favorite one is feeding the fish, birds, and also hens lol.

It's good but there's not much to see. Worth an afternoon stroll if you're doing a Nakhon Pathom day trip. Seems you have to go in from the University side. Also the maps they have made the place look a lot bigger than it is since once you hit the sports area it's gated off. Love the roosters tho!
This palace was on the same grounds as my wife's college. It's bloody gorgeous. The giant komodo dragon-looking lizards aren't harmful (I was told) (Edit: They are dangerous just don't mess with them). Don't make any promises to the elephant God or offer him anything... just respect the view. The best part, look into the story about the giant dog statue in the memorial of King Rama the fifths dog. That's a true dog lover and a man to be respected.
A must-place in Nakhon Pathom! Beautiful palace and garden. Worth the visit. There's a tour available if you're interested in the history.

Very interesting place to visit. Residence of Rama 6. About one and a half hours away from Bangkok which makes it a perfect day trip. The place is completely free to visit. At least when we went there. I have read comments about shorts and there was a sign no shorts were allowed but I was not stopped. Maybe because I spoke few words I know in Thai to the guard.
I love Thai old houses architecture but was not allowed to take photos inside the residence. Only an outside picture was taken.
