Mon Jam (ม่อนแจ่ม) Eden Garden Resort

Amazing place for so few entry fees. The garden is fantastic. You could spend hours there taking photos. Make sure you dress up! We got there by motorbike, it was a relatively easy ride. Last few minutes, we encountered some steep bends but it's doable. Such a good place to take a break from city life. Green scenery, cool weather, and fresh air will welcome you here. Spend 1-2 hours here to enjoy the calmness and pretty mountain views. The thing is, the toilet is not so comfortable. But other than that, everything is fine.

This place has an amazing view, once I traveled to this place those flowers are very beautiful, I love how they manage their area to plant different types of flowers and made them look good together. When I was at the top of this place and looked down, I saw a nice view of flowers and a mountain with a blue sky in one very interesting frame, it makes me feel better and very happy. I wish that next time I will be able to see the night view of this place because the day view was already good, it might be because I was very lucky to choose the correct day that has good weather, however, this is a good place that I want to recommend everyone to visit.

A very pleasant place to walk. Located on the mountain near Mae Sa village, there are several raspberry farms and gardens with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Entrance to the farms is paid, but inexpensive - only 20 baht and it's worth it.
The weather is cold in the morning. When I first reached there, there was a little crowd. After 30 mins or so, there was a sudden big crowd consisting of about 30 people. Too many people tried to take photos in a small area which was a bit uncomfortable.

If you’re heading North from Chiang Mai, it is worth bypassing Mon Jam for beautiful views over the mountains, hills, and valleys from any of the flower farms. Plenty of coffee shops, food stalls, and a decent market called the Hmong market. Head here on the 4051 roads. Amazing place. Very hidden place but beautiful if you can find it! Amazing views and you even get cute little umbrellas and flower baskets to take your pictures completely free.

Beautiful flower garden that covers a large area, set high in the mountains of Chiang Mai. The cool weather makes it ideal for a peaceful stroll among the colorful blooms. There are plenty of areas for you to sit in to soak in the peaceful surroundings and mountaintop views. The trek up is dotted with stalls offering local fruits and souvenirs. Lovely break away from Chiang Mai. About an hour on the motorbike to get there. Opens at 7 am and may be a good idea to get there early as there will be a bus full of tourists now and then.

You may want to time your visit for when the flowers blossom. I’m not an expert.
One of the highlights of Mon Jam is its picturesque viewpoint, which offers sweeping vistas of the surrounding hills and valleys. I can relax at one of the cafes or restaurants in the area while enjoying the stunning scenery. Mon Jam is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Chiang Mai who wants to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of northern Thailand. Nice tourist attraction with lovely views and various curious shops selling local foods and drinks. Went to a nice coffee shop at the place with a lovely view of the hills around.

Was quite cool so remember to bring warm clothes. Beautiful place. Nice view. But... There is an entrance charge of 20 Thai Baht per person. You have to park your car in the car park and walk 200 meters from here. A lot of tourists during holiday. A lot of car parks were provided but not free. The fantastic scene you could enjoy.

WOW! If you want to relax and have a beer with a picturesque landscape, then Monjam is where you have to head in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It has stunning topography, flowers all around, tiny shops, and a few good cafes! If you're on a motorbike you can drive right up to this place. I'm not sure they harvest the flowers here, I think they earn the income from visitors, particularly Thai people, who come to get their photos taken amongst the flowers. A couple of gardens here, the larger one charges 30Bht entrance whilst the smaller one 20Bht. There are places selling food and refreshments here. Great location and too much to see and do. Need to plan a whole day as you have so many things to find on the way up there.

Mon Jam is a mountain community/village about 1 hour from Chiang Mai, near the town of Mae Rim. It’s famous for being home to the ethnically diverse Hmong Tribespeople, and the cold weather combined with gorgeous mountain views.

Where is Mon Jam
North of Chiang Mai, about a 37km (25 miles) drive. First, you drive from Chiang Mai city to Mae Rim town, just on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. Then you take a left into the mountains. The last 20 minutes or so are a spectacular drive (or ride if you’re on a motorbike).

How to get to Mon Jam?
First, presumably, you’ll be in Chiang Mai. Now, you have 3 choices to get from Chiang Mai to Mon Jam. Drive yourself, take a taxi, or ride a scooter.

The 2nd half of the journey is STEEP. I took an old Honda Civic automatic, and it was a slow drive up the hill! Better to have a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, but it is possible with a 2-wheel drive like mine.
If you’re on a scooter, if it’s 125cc or less, AND automatic, AND 2 people are riding – it will be a slow, zig-zagged approach.
The road isn’t too bad actually, it’s just the gradient. And then once you reach the town of Mon Jam, and drive to your campsite, that’s the only bad bit of road, the last hundred meters or so.

Things to do in Mon Jam
Mon Jam, as I mentioned, is just outside Mae Rim. And Mae Rim is home to half of the activities in Chiang Mai! So in terms of things to do, there are a lot. Let’s have a look:
Camping in Mon Jam. This is the main event. Day trips to Mon Jam from Chiang Mai are possible, but I recommend staying 1 night and staying in the huts/pods.

Pongyang Jungle Coaster Zipline. There’s a cafe complex near Mon Jam, just 10 minute drive, that’s home to a zipline, a great coffee shop, and a rustic ‘jungle coaster’, where you control a little cart at the speed of your choosing around the jungle. Cool.

Mae Sa waterfall. Just as leave you, Mae Rim, before you start the mountain drive, you’ll find Mae Sa Waterfall.

Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park. A Chiang Mai institution. Great for kids. An ethical, pro-elephant center that recycles elephant poo into PAPER! Yup.

Flying Squirrels Zip Line Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai’s most famous zipline.
Coffee @ Pong Yeang Berry-Windyhill. Popular with the Instagram crowd is Berry-Windyhill Cafe. Great viewpoints and cheap, tasty Thai food. A good spot for lunch.

Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden and its canopy walk. Not my kinda thing, but a well-made Royal botanical garden. The canopy walkway is pretty cool though.

Strawberry Farms. The weather in Mon Jam means strawberries are in abundance. You’ll drive past no less than 20 strawberry farms, all of which have a little shop selling fresh produce. Stop by when you drive past.

Skywalk Mon Jam. Rivaling the botanical gardens canopy walk is Mon Jam’s skywalk. Flowers are plenty, great views and, you guessed it, perfect for Instagram lovers!
Waterfall restaurant. Lunch spot, right by a waterfall. Traditional Thai-style seating is as local as it comes!
